Happy New Year, and happy Friday the 13th everyone! I've got some news items to catch up on...
The next Residents album, The Ghost of Hope, has been given a release date of March 24, and it will be available on vinyl for those of you who love your plastic music (and in a way, don't we all?).
Klanggalerie will be releasing two items you'll be interested in, both of projects that originated as MP3 downloads. Up first is Dot.Com, which you may remember as a special year-long event at Ralph America and later a limited edition CD. If you don't remember that, you can form a new memory with this disc. Bonus tracks include selections from the Radio Thoreau project from just a few years ago. And Charles Bobuck will be releasing a collection entitled Eggs For Breakfast, featuring 26 of his tiny tunes.
Something else, something else... Klang's also re-releasing Snakefinger's Manual of Errors, so be on the lookout for that. Hrm... I know I'm forgetting something...
Oh yeah, I remember now: today we relaunch Residents.com with an entirely new design. Still needs a few touches here and there, but I think you'll enjoy it. Come and have a look.
[a slightly updated version of an earlier announcement]
You heard it right, folks. A new Residents show entitled "In Between Dreams" will premiere in Japan with six performances, two per night, from the 21st through the 23rd of March.
Tickets go on sale December 27, 2016.

LIMITED TO 300 COPIES! BUY OR DIE!
First time on CD! Previously available as a download, this album is a compilation of MIDI arrangements that started out in 2001 as sketches for a proposed Residents album based on The American Civil War. The rather un-sexy project did not get encouragement from European partners because the war meant little outside of the United States and is most prominently a part of history in the deep South. The project was abandoned, but the sketches live on.

A couple of days ago, this video quietly showed up on YouTube: Junior's Double Trouble Nightmare
And today more details have been released, including a sale to raise funds for the project. The heart of the sale are signed and numbered copies of the Sculpt soundtrack CD. Only 50 are available, so (say it with me) Buy or Die!

Hey! Remember the Residents Lovers forum? Eh, I don't really either, it disappeared so long ago. But website regular moleshow has created a new forum for those who like their social interactions at a pace less frantic than the chat room. Stop by and say "Hello, Skinny."
Hey, look at this! A music video for "Rushing Like a Banshee," the single from the upcoming album The Ghost of Hope.
Secret Records (the folks who brought you the wonderful vinyl editions of Snakefinger's Live In Melbourne and Renaldo & The Loaf's Behind Closed Curtains) are at it again, this time with another familiar Ralph Records artist... The Residents!
Coming to vinyl for the first time is The 13th Anniversary Tour Live In Holland. This was only available on CD from Torso, so if you have it you know how great it is. If you don't have it, here's a chance to hear what everyone's been crowing about. It will be a limited edition double LP pressed in fancy weirdo colors, and will include unpublished photos from deep in the Cryptic Corporation archives.
The project is being funded by pre-orders for a May release date. Though there may be some unclaimed copies in May, you'll best be served by securing a copy now.
Book a flight to Wales for April, The Residents are playing a festival!
Announced today, The Residents will be part of Safe As Milk, a three-day festival (21-23 April) at the Pontins Prestatyn Sands Holiday Park. Along with great music, the festival will feature films, exhibitions, lathe pressing, and all the site's regular attractions (go-karts, swimming, etc).
Other acts announced for the festival include: Shirley Collins, Omar Souleyman, OOIOO, This Is Not This Heat, Grouper, Hieroglyphic Being, Brainbombs, Dopplereffekt, Islam Chipsy & Eek, Horse Lords, and Nurse With Wound.

THE RESIDENTS present The Delta Nudes
CD album | gg231
As previously reported, Klanggalerie has compiled a new Delta Nudes compilation. I'm here to tell you that as of today, it is available!
You can order from Klanggalerie right now. If you're into waiting about a month, MVD will be distributing it in the US.
Good news, everyone! The latest Charles Bobuck album, in which he reinterprets compositions originally performed by art collective The Residents, is now available from Klanggalerie. It's actually in stock, and not some sort of pre-order or weird manufacturing delay. Get yours here. It's also being distributed in the United States by MVD, so look for it in better retail outlets in early November.
The next Residents album is entitled The Ghost of Hope and is slated for release in February of 2017. The album features guest collaborator Eric Drew Feldman - who has worked with everybody cool, so he's already in your record collection.
Two tracks from the album, "Rushing Like a Banshee" and "Train vs. Elephant" will be available on a limited 7" vinyl, suitable for inclusion in your Rock-Ola. The single is looking at a November release (in various editions) by Psychofon Records, and a regular black vinyl release will be distributed by MVD in December.
